AJS To Build Angolan Plant
Angolan equipment manufacturer and logistics firm Antonio J. Silva Transportes e Logistica said it will strengthen its project cargo offering with the development of a new facility to manufacture trailer and flatbed products for the breakbulk sector.
“We are leveraging our 40-year expertise in transportation to focus on an immediate need in the industry: availability of dependable, well-made equipment. By building here in Angola, we considerably reduce the costs of importing these items, thus further optimizing the transportation industry in Angola,” AJS CEO Luis Silva said.
The new facility is in response to growing demand for breakbulk and project cargo solutions in the country as investment has flooded in to mining and natural resource projects.
“We are seeing tremendous interest from all quarters in the output of this new factory. Additionally, we are very pleased to be launching this enterprise at this crucial juncture for Angola’s economy and we remain dedicated to creating new ideas and revenue streams and continuing to grow,” Silva said.
AJS is headquartered in Viana, a suburb of the capital Luanda, and has a fleet of more than 200 vehicles.
