ALE Completes Cookhouse Delivery
Project cargo and heavy-lift firm ALE has completed lifting and transportation of 66 wind turbine generators to the Cookhouse wind farm site in South Africa.
ALE collected components from a geared vessel at Couga Port in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa and conducted all lifting procedures to transfer onto road transport. The project team handled delivery of wind turbine components consisting of nacelles, blades, hubs and towers
“The components were offloaded using the two LTM1090 cranes and reloaded onto ALE’s transportation equipment. Using 6 axle lines of an extendable semi-loader trailer, 4 and 8 axle lines of extendable trailers, ALE transported the components to the Cookhouse wind farm site, where they were staged from the trailers,” an ALE spokesperson said.
ALE also recently completed delivery of a cargo consisting of a 140-tonne boiler to a new biomass power station in Leicestershire, UK
Headquartered in Staffordshire in the UK, ALE provides heavy-lift services for a range of industries. The firm has more than 30 regional offices around the world and focuses on heavy-lift projects in oil and gas, civil, nuclear, offshore, renewables, petrochemical, ports, marine, minerals and metals and mining.
