Engines Power AGL, LoadLine Business
Project Cargo Network members Alexander Global Logistics (AGL) and LoadLine recently handled the shipment of behemoth engines for clients.
AGL, a Project Cargo Network member in Germany, Russia and Mongolia, reported a successful shipment of four huge diesel engines from Antwerp to Shanghai, China.
It was the fifth shipment of its kind in 2015 for AGL. The company organized barge loading for pre-carriage, heavy-lift barging to the ocean vessel terminal, onboard loading by the ship’s heavy-lift gear, sea transport and survey.
Two engines weighed 220 tonnes each with dimensions of 10.25 by 5.1 by 5.9 meters. The other two weighed 158.5 tonnes and were 10.5 by 3.2 by 5.3 meters.
PCN member LoadLine in Morocco recently handled the urgent airfreight of a 5.1-ton aircraft engine from Casablanca, Morocco, to Istanbul, Turkey.
The 2.5-meter-high engine was loaded into a Turkish A330-200 freighter, and arrived on time and in good order at destination, said Asmae Makdoun, of LoadLine’s export customer service department.
