Global Shipping Services ships Transmission Equipment
Global Shipping Services recently handled transportation of transmission line equipment from South Africa to Australia.
The firm partnered with South African firm Paccon Logistics who delivered services and support on site during loading and preparation.
The cargo required thorough washing, cleaning and preparation before loading in order to meet Australia Quarantine Inspection, AQIS.
“We cannot speak highly enough of the great service received from Paccon Logistics. Andrew Wallace, Steve Gillespie and Logan Nayager especially. With the Paccon guys on site every day with our customer, the communication and information flow was seamless with daily updates, briefings, telephone updates and pictures of the process and progress constant,” said Paul McAuley, vice president projects North America at Global Shipping Services.
Both firms involved in the project are members of the Global Project Logistics Network, or GPLN. They were joined by three new additions to the network recently from Ghana, Albania and Russia:
• COMEXAS Ghana which focuses on customized solutions for project cargoes, and is mainly focused on the oil & gas, mining, power and industrial sectors.
• Albania’s Dedja Shipping also joined and is focused on similar sectors in the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions.
• Dako Worldwide Transport’s Moscow and St. Petersburg offices. The German firm handles multimodal transport of heavy, bulky and oversized cargoes in the petrochemical, power-engineering, metallurgic and other industries.
