Nigeria To Support Oil And Gas Investors
Nigeria’s federal government is keen to support oil and gas investors looking for a base in the country.
Denzil Kentebe, executive secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, encouraged outside companies to operate in Onne’s Oil & Gas Free Zone, and pledged that they would have the support of the board according to comments made in Nigeria’s local newspaper, The Sun.
Kentebe was promoting the facilities at the FTZ during a tour for stakeholders and international companies in the oil and gas industry.
Explaining the purpose of the visit, Kentebe said he wanted the industry to appreciate the capacity of the zone for companies operating in the oil and gas services sector.
He said the operations of oil and gas companies were vital to growth and employment in the country and promised competitive tax policies to support businesses.
Speaking after the tour, Isidore Sambol, the head of public relations and Nigerian content at Intels Nigeria, pointed out that only 40 percent of the Onne free zone was being used, and called on investors to take advantage of federal government incentives for operating in the zone.
