Pentalver Delivers Lion to Longleat
Transport logistics firm Pentalver has delivered a 3-tonne lion sculpture from the London Gateway site on the north bank of the River Thames to Longleat Safari Park.
The giant sculpture measured 8 meters long and 4.3 meters high, and was commissioned for 50th anniversary celebrations at the park. Upon arrival at London Gateway from South Africa the cargo was unloaded from a 40-foot, open-top container and transferred onto a wafer deck trailer by Pentalver’s cargo handling team.
“Pentalver were delighted to be involved in such a prestigious project. We were first instructed to deliver the lion by crate, however the consignment was too high to travel by road on our super low loader, so our expert cargo handling team carefully removed the Lion sculpture from the casing,” said Carl Wheeler, Pentalver specialist haulage transport planner.
Pentalver operates from five UK facilities and offers a combination of transport, storage and inland logistics solutions via a fleet of over 200 articulated vehicles, dedicated repair facilities and a 24/7 on call refrigeration service.
